Eugenia Antoniou is a Greek, Athens-based artist and multidisciplinary designer whose work encompasses product, spatial installations, sculpture,painting and digital art. 

Grown up amidst the antithesis of the colourful Mediterannean unruly light and land and the disciplined way of ancient greek art, her projects, characterized by poetic concepts, sculptural forms and a playful and tender line which represent a clear design language and a vivid improvisational structure.

Her work draws inspiration from nature' s efficiency, ancient cultures, myth, everyday life and the multidimentional nature of the human being. She has conceived lights, furniture, jewellery and a variety of objects as well as paintings, sculpting installations and digital art. Her practice engages both industrial production and traditional craftmanship by working mostly in collaboration with small local manufacturers.

BIOGRAPHY

Eugenia Antoniou trained as a designer at Aegean University of Product and System Design Engineering before attending Athens School of Fine Arts.

She is also involved in the educational system at the Department of Product and System Design Engineering of the Aegean University, where she teaches 'creative brainstorming' and 'conceptual design.'

AWARDS

Eugenia Antoniou's work has been awarded internationally and nationally.
Namely, she has received the  Red Dot award, Concept Design 2019 for her seating collection 'Yueyi', the Red Dot Honourable Mention Concept Design 2015 for her floor lamp 'Eclipse of Rainbow' and the 1st prize of Ideas Design Competition Indoor/Outdoor Led Luminaire for the same product.
The 1st prize by the municipality of Santorini for her waste bin 'Sabi' now located in the alleys of Santorini.
The 'Cultural Product Award' by the Greek Archeological Receipts Funds for her grapfic design 'Gramma' now decorating various products available at national archeological museums' shops.
